A bright yellow two-story entryway can be a shocker even if you live in the heart of the Sunshine State. Combine it with traditional furnishings in equally bold hues and graphic patterns then you have a home full of character and surprises around every corner.

Sherbert orange complements a geometric medley of black and white chevron patterns and Greek key motifs. The concentration of three main colors and simple patterns help the eye find an easy place to rest.

With help from a rustic wood table, the kitchen instantly becomes a warm, welcoming place to dine. After dinner, the adjacent nook becomes a relaxing area to continue the conversation or just admire the outdoor view.

The repetition of color creates balance and continuity in this soaring great room. The marigold taffeta drapery panels hung right above the patio doors keep the room grounded and place emphasis on the lower half of the space, not the tall ceiling.

Mixing color and texture produces a feast for the eyes and hands. Incorporating natural elements such as the sisal rug along with the fresh green ferns [background] breathes life into a space that may otherwise have a showroom appeal.
