Do you remember Little Ivana? I swear she must be the luckiest four-year-old ever. When her mom called me over for a consultation the family had just moved into a larger home and inherited these beautiful drapery panels along with it. A former fashion stylist, mom knows how to put together a look fit for a catwalk but needed some assistance translating her savvy style into her home’s decor.
I put this design plan together based on her existing items, the drapery, chandelier, nightstands, mirror, and desk chair. The rest of the room contains retail finds from JCPenney, Target, TJMaxx, Pottery Barn Kids, Overstock.com, and Peagreen (an online art retailer from across the pond).

Did I mention that Ivana is four-years-old. Her petite little frame has to get a running start to jump into her full-sized bed with its super thick mattress. Convenient for Mom, everything within this space can stick with her well into her pre-teen years.
The above rug was the jumping off point for the room. A mere $50 steal from TJMaxx. I found the turquoise/white chevron throw in the same store for $15 on clearance. Twas a great shopping day.

The storage unit and floating shelves were taken from another room to provide Ivana a place to store her many dolls and accessories.
The dual nightstands, refinished by Kristin Fountain Davis of KFD Designs, have a sparkly lacquer finish. You can tell by the photos that I completed this install long after nightfall. However, you have to trust me when I say Kristin made magic on these nightstands fairy dust and all.

Finally the desk area currently serves as a primping/dressup station for little Ivana. Pretty soon she will be doing homework in this same space.

Ivana’s room is a lesson in using what you have and combining it with new pieces to refresh a lackluster space. Hope you enjoyed this room tour. Have a space that needs a little TLC? Call me. I’m ready to assist!
