Change is good especially when you find a home that fits your family and lifestyle perfectly. This is exactly the case for my former clients who recently hired me again to decorate their new Kennesaw home. The project consists of mostly new furnishings as well as furniture I purchased for their previous home. The design aesthetic is the same as before however the wide open spaces allowed us to use larger scale furnishings and lighting. Let’s take a tour.

The dining room is one of the first rooms you see upon entering the home. Though refined, the atmosphere is both relaxed and approachable due to the comfortable, slipcovered dining chairs. Though the overall palette is clean, we added depth by painting the ceiling a rich navy which echoes the color of the new custom drapery panels.

After dinner, the conversation can continue across the hall in the formal living room. The sparking orb chandelier is on a dimmer which allows you to set the mood using softer lighting. The effects are intoxicating.

Just past the formal living spaces is an open floor plan family room. The furniture, we selected for the previous house, fits even better here. The custom drapery from the old house were too short for these windows. Therefore we fabricated new ones to coordinate with the custom throw pillows.

Beyond the kitchen and family room, the sunroom provides an indoor-outdoor experience thanks to the abundance of windows. We softened the lines of the windows with long, readymade drapery panels. The mood is even more casual here, but style is never compromised.

Upstairs, the sprawling master bedroom is larger than my first condo. Above is a shot using my iPhone. Could you believe I forgot to ask the photographer to get this shot?? The painted ceiling and romantic chandelier are defining statements.

When you’ve got a sprawling owner’s retreat, a staycation can happen every single weekend. INHALE, EXHALE.

Upper level media rooms are gaining popularity these days and for good reason! What’s not to love about being steps away from your bedroom and your own private cinema? Popcorn please!
