Hello Friends! Yes, I’m having a blast at the Las Vegas Market along with thousands of buyers and exhibitors from all over the world.
“Weren’t you just at High Point Market in October and Atlanta Market just last week?”
Indeed I was and pride myself with keeping my finger on the pulse of design! It’s obvious I just can’t get enough. Las Vegas Market is a first for me and I was invited by my design colleagues, Jackie Von Tobel and Deb Barrett, to join their Soft Design Lab VIP Tour. How could I say no to this dynamic duo or to Las Vegas?
My accommodations included a well-appointed guest room at the SLS conveniently located on the Market Shuttle route and within miles of the Las Vegas World Market Center. My friend, Houston-based interior designer Veronica Solomon, and I were inseparable throughout the day and well into the night. We shopped (for clients) then dined at two of their three fine dining restaurants onsite, Katsuya and Bazaar Meat.
So what do think of Las Vegas Market?
It was a question I was asked several times by social media and designer friends tuning into my coverage via Facebook and Instagram.
I’ve found Las Vegas Market be extremely hospitable from the greeters who welcomed us each morning as we got off chartered buses to the salespeople in each showroom. It was truly southern hospitality-gone west.
In true Vegas form, there was great emphasis on bold accessories and large scale lighting. And contrary to the popular saying, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” I’m taking home with me some fabulous new products for upcoming projects as well as some new-to-me vendors to add to my hot list.
If you missed this Market, make plans to attend their second Market in August. It’ll be hot as Hades in the desert but you’ll at least get a chance to cool off at the hotel’s posh pools! Get that beach bod ready!
I’ll return with more post later in the week and more details on some big news I announced via Facebook and Instagram!!
Stay tuned…
xo,
Erika
