Friday afternoon I drove to Serenbe, environmentally conscious planned community south of Atlanta, to spend time with friends and to tour Rodale’s Organic Life House in the Mado neighborhood.

Great emphasis is placed on healthy living and building materials from the impressive EarthCraft-certification to the geothermal heating and cooling and solar panels.

While the home boasts a sprawling 6000 sqft consisting of four-bedrooms, four and a half baths, a yoga and meditation room, and edible medicinal gardens, I’m giving you peek into a few spaces in hopes that you’ll drive down to see it for yourself!

One of the features I was anxious to see was this breaktaking staircase. The home’s interior designer, Dana Lynch, provided glimpses of the structural beauty via her Instagram page. Seeing it in person did not disappoint—in fact it far exceeded my expectations.

The living/dining/kitchen open floor plan is a naturalist’s dream consisting of the most lounge-worthy crisp linen upholstered sofas, modern lighting, and custom cabinetry.

Simplicity and luxury combine to create this sumptuous bedroom in a classic black and white palette.

Hammered metal furniture, raw wood, and beaded accents accessorize each room yet they’re all uniquely beautiful in style. 

Outdoors, the saltwater lamp pool provides hours of relaxation and entertainment.

…and herbal gardens heal and restore.

What more could you want from a live, work, play community that celebrates health, beauty, all while considering the world’s natural resources?
