[dropcap]M[/dropcap]y latest ideabook for houzz takes you on a tour of a contemporary Miami condo designed for a modern family. Though Miami design is know for bold hues and art deco decor, interior designer Deborah Wecselman shows a softer side of this vibrant coastal city. Inspired by nature, she chose a watery color palette, woven textures, natural fabrics, and local art to create this sophisticated haven by the sea.

FROM HOUZZ:
The family room, one of the more casual spaces in the home, summons relaxation courtesy of a cabana-striped daybed, seagrass rug, woven furnishings and outdoor fabrics.
“The key to not going ‘overboard’ in coastal decor,” Wecselman explains, “is to use lightweight fabrics like linen and use natural materials like raffia and other materials with a woven look and texture.”
