Every summer has a story…

Growing up my annual vacation destination included a trip to South Carolina—we’d first spend a couple of days in Orangeburg then head to the coast to visit family in Charleston. Sprinkle in an occasional trip to visit cousins in Chicago, a summer camp or two, and that about summed it up. My grandparents would take the more exotic trips alone, an Alaska cruise, an excursion across an Egyptian desert, or a religious pilgrimage to The Holy Land to name a few. 

I often daydreamed about beach vacations and second homes along the coast—to unpack and actually put my vacation clothes in a drawer and not live days out of a suitcase. Now as an adult and the family CFO, Chief Fun Officer, I’ve already begun to scope out locations for that vacation home and we often return to one specific destination, Alys Beach. My vision for our Alys Beach home’s interior encompasses simply luxury, sustainability, and beauty. This residence designed by Melanie Turner Interiors couldn’t be a more perfect illustration of everything we want and more.
