We’ve been working throughout the summer designing the studio and office space of an popular Atlanta faith-based record label. With all the hustle and bustle of work and life in general, it’s been easier to share sneak peeks on Instagram but I’m taking some time to bring you up to speed starting with this cost saving idea. Everyone loves a deal, right?
So, the floor plan has been reconfigured a bit and the original waiting area has been repurposed to serve as the recording lounge. With the company’s abundance of signed sporting paraphernalia and memorabilia, it quickly became known as the “Believers Hall of Fame.” The budget has been relatively conservative and I have to pat myself on the back for finding these industrial shelves at where else, but the Home Depot.
I know, hard to believe right?
Within the context of an “urban” space, think loft, studio apartment, or ultra modern condo, these work just fine. I also found an awesome video tutorial via House and Home Magazine where they replaced the shelving with inexpensive oak plywood and dark stain. Here are a few more images to get the ideas flowing…
Could something like this work in your space?
