It’s crunch time at Erika Ward Interiors! With Baby Girl arriving in a few weeks, I’ve been wrapping up design projects left and right. Here’s a project I’ve been working on that started out as a consultation back in January. The homeowners were trying to decide whether to update their current home or to pick up and move. Ultimately they decided to stay so there was a whole lot of decisions to be made before we got to this point, but I’m glad we’re finally here. Last week installation began on the built-in bookcases. Here’s an inspiration photo I found while digging through Pinterest. This is pretty much the direction we are doing in her family room.

Here’s a progress photo:

The base color is Sherwin William’s Softer Tan SW-6141. The back of the bookcase will be painted the same color as the wall, Benjamin Moore’s Newburg Green HC-158. The rest of the millwork will be installed this week so we can get on with painting the walls and staining the hardwood floors. Sweet progress!

Here’s the approved design board. Most of the original design was kept, however I sourced a newer and better sofa with chaise! After 8 weeks, all the upholstered furniture is back.Erika Ward Interiors shares design plans for a family room and sunroom in a couples Marietta home.

I think I may be most excited about the modern wing chairs in Ferris Sapphire from Lee Industries!

And here’s a closer look at the fabrics…

The neighboring sunroom is also getting a much needed facelift as well. Here was the proposed concept. However, during the sourcing process I found some much better options. Here’s the gist.

The room has a ton of windows, a good thing only when you have some light control. We’re installing lightweight drapery panels the space and I’ve added a special detail to the drapery header. You just have to wait and see!  This reveal can’t come fast enough!
