The holiday season has arrived which means that entertaining at home is likely in full swing.

Whether it’s a cocktail party with friends or a family gathering; your house should reflect the season and your personal style. In this post we’ve got you covered in stylish holiday decorating ideas, from the driveway to the staircase, that will give your guest a warm welcome from cold temperatures. Here’s how…

Whether you prefer wreaths or garlands; we all can agree, the more greenery, the better. You don’t have to have the most lights or battery operated snowmen in your yard to feel festive during this holiday season.

Who has time to untangle Christmas lights when a few potted evergreens and a wreath will do the trick.

FRONT DOOR

If simplicity is not your sweet spot, and you want to take your decorations up a notch, try making a statement using decorated evergreens and reindeers.

For those of you who have children, this will be a fun way to get the kids involved. Allowing the kids to help decorate the potted trees with pine cones, will not only help dad with maintaining the yard, but it makes them feel accomplished.

FOYER

The entryway gives a first impression that guests will have of your home.
Clearing out the year-round clutter, gives you can opportunity to start fresh and layer your decorations.

Adding seasonal hooks will allow your guests to hang their coats during the holiday gatherings. Introducing scented candles, with fresh flowers will make this space feel welcoming upon entering the home. Ceramic vases are the perfect solution to adding eucalyptus.

STAIRCASE

Often times, we forget to decorate the most noticeable part of our homes; the staircase. Banisters may feel tricky to decorate, but there is nothing a simple string of garland can’t fix. Pairing another string of garland to go along with the garland from outdoors, helps bring the outdoors excitement into your home.

Continuing the festivities onto the staircase helps tie the experience together. Coordinating the same color palette from the foyer onto the garland will help make the space feel united.

All in all friends and family will be impressed with the decorations, but its the memories of food and fun that will be remembered long after the holidays.

Everything looks so beautiful, Erika! I can’t wait to go out and get some garland for the front porch.
