Owning your own business can be a fulfilling experience and at times be a bit scary. Couple that with using social media as a new method of reaching potential clients and doing business in this age can be extremely intimidating. Kravet Fabrics, in business since 1918, is one of the few organizations who recognizes that social media is changing the way consumers make buying decisions. As a courtesy to their vendors, they are conducting a series of presentations around the country that aim to demystify social media.
I was honored to participate in the panel (#15 on the tour) held in Kravet’s Atlanta showroom on yesterday. Jennifer Powell, Kravet’s Social Media Coordinator opened the discussion with a presentation focusing on four social media outlets, Facebook, Twitter, LinkIn, and Blogging. Be sure to read this post “Social Media 101 by Simplified Bee” for the basics. At the end of her presentation, me and panelists Claire Watkins of Claire Watkins Interior Design and Barry Leach of Lancaster Interior Design answered audience questions.
