It all began on May 5, 1868 when Memorial Day was officially proclaimed to honor and pay tribute to the brave men, women and families of our armed forces for their service and sacrifice.
As I reflect on what that truly means, it certainly goes beyond a retail sales event, a day off of work or school, a beach vacation, or swinging BBQ blockparty…not that anything is wrong with these events. I enjoy them, too.
Regardless of how you choose to use this day, please take a moment to remember those who made it possible for us to enjoy the simple liberties we often take for granted. Life is a treasured gift and many have sacrificed their gift so that we can choose how we want to use ours. Make it count.
Wishing you and yours a very Happy Memorial Day Weekend. Please be safe and I look forward to bringing you more of what you love in the coming days!
xo,
Erika
