Tour a refined home that’s elegant, yet tough enough to stand up to active children.

Designed by Phillip Sides, this Alabama home featured in the July/August issue of Traditional Home is a visual statement to my design philosophy—You can have young children and a fashionable family home at the same time. Joy and Cole Portis are parents to nine, yes nine children, and have opened their doors to show the world how they live and love within their four walls.

I’ve outlined a few lessons learned about maintaining a fashionable family home and share them in the slideshow below. I hope this tour gives you the inspiration you need to achieve the beautiful home you’ve always wanted. Take notes!
