[dropcap]L[/dropcap]ast Thursday night, my husband and I attended the Atlanta premiere of Tyler New Media’s movie, Still Standing, at the Midtown Art Cinema.
It came as no surprise that both shows were sold out that night. Ronnie and Lamar Tyler, the producers of the film and the creators of BlackAndMarriedWithKids.com, have found great success in each city they’ve held screenings. This movie being their fourth film.
I couldn’t wait to see Still Standing in the theater and quite honestly I wanted to see my set design work (and movie credit) on the big screen. Before I show you the screen captures, here are a couple of wide angle shots of things you don’t see in the movie.
Here’s how everything translated on camera:
All the furnishings used for this scene were from one of my favorite retailers, I.O. Metro. They have locations across the South, three here in the Atlanta area. Check their website for a location near you. If there isn’t one, you can always order online!
To produce the various looks, I used the same sofa but changed up the accessories depending on what the couples wore. The sofa moved around the room a few times to give another perspective.
It never failed, each couple interviewed while on the Tinsley Sofa commented on its roominess and comfort. The People Sitting on Stand statue and Rattan Sphere Lamps were also favorites of the cast and crew.
This is one experience I will truly treasure and I’m so very grateful to the Tylers and I.O. Metro in believing in my talents and abilities. I’m expecting more opportunities like these to come in the near future. I don’t have any leads yet for future films, but it’s just one of those things I just KNOW, you know?
To order your copy of Still Standing, visit www.westillstand.com. Keep it for yourself, have your own movie screening with other couples and discuss it after you watch the film together, give it as a gift. Just buy the movie. It’s one of those you will be talking about for years to come!
