Have you ever been apartment hunting and decided to walk away because of an awkward window placement? The photo above is the NYC duplex of Nate Berkus. I can assume it’s in a great location, but to the average person this conglomerate of low windows and an intrusive A/C unit is a complete eyesore. And it was supposed to be the Master Bedroom.
Apparently Mr. Berkus rose to the challenge and created a window treatment solution we can all learn from. He literally raised the bar by increasing the height of the drapery rod to just above the A/C unit. The bamboo blinds provide the illusion of a taller window and hides the enormous void of wall space. Notice he also camouflaged the units by painting them the same color as the wall and hung artwork beneath it. Sheer genius!
How have you cured a “window pain (in the ass)” in your home? Could this solution be an answered prayer for you?
