I'm Erika Ward

I’ve always believed that good design goes beyond what we see — it shapes how we live.

I started tweeting in August of last year. I felt the same way about twitter as I did about blogging when I first got started. Why tweet when I already have a Facebook Fan Page? With only 140 characters, what would I say? How will I know if someone responds to my message? Who do I follow? One of the first articles I used as a reference recommended that I tweet my blog posts, so I did. Then I started to reach out to others in the design community. I became more relaxed and decided to just be…

This same piece of advice was given by Shameeka Ayers (aka The Broke Socialite) on a Monday night in a panel discussion hosted by CRAVEAtlanta at Noon Midtown. She along with Michael Erickson (Fifth Group Restaurants) and Tucker Berta (Serenbe) lead a discussion entitled “Social Media Superstars.” Here are a few pics from the event.

I’m always excited to meet fellow bloggers and tweet mates! Attending functions like this allows you to meet the voice behind your favorite blogs. When you all get together you feel like old friends!
