Inspired by nature, revitalization, and hope, The Pantone Institute has announced Greenery as the 2017 Color of the Year.

“Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate” says Pantone. “Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.”

The announcement came at no surprise given the amount of emerald green I saw during High Point Market back in October. However, 2017’s it color is described as a “fresh, zesty yellow-green” as in the shade you’re likely to see in spring.

Thank goodness we won’t have to wait until next season to reap the benefits of a color synonymous with revival, restoration, and renewal. Greenery is already available in fabrics, furnishings, and accessories. Here are a few of my personal favorites:

GREENERY IN HOMES

What better way to immerse yourself into hope and nature than to incorporate it into your home’s decor?

Peter Roger’s Antebellum living room feels as if it were literally dipped into the color of the year. Its monochromatic palette makes Greenery almost feel like a neutral…almost.

In 2011, Dallas-based Julie Hayes was featured in Veranda Magazine for her work in a restored Greek-Revival Home. Goes to show that green is classic, not trendy.

You can always count on Lindsey Coral Harper to deliver a cheerful space. The walls are painted Stem Green by Benjamin Moore.
